St Anne’s gig

On Wednesday 18 May, the gamelan performed at St Anne’s college.

It was drizzling when we set up, but we chose to play in the quad under a large tree instead of hidden away in a lecture theatre, and it stopped raining for the actual performance. And it was nice playing in an open space, even if it was rather cold stripped to our batik shirts.

We played gendhing bonang Okrak-Okrak, ladrang Wilujeng, ladrang Diradameta, ketawang Subakastawa – Ayak-ayakan – Srepeg, Jula-Juli – Sontoloyo, and ladrang Mugirahayu – ladrang Samiran – Ayak-ayakan Pamungkas.

Oxford Daily Photo has posted some photos of our performance.
